Spiritual communion would be the exchange of intimate thoughts and feelings with one's Deity. It's the awareness of God's presence in  daily activities and every moment of life. This may be just drifting off into daydreaming, imagining that God is watching or listening when it may not at all be the case. Or sensing the divine hand behind a situation you find yourself in, be it simply because you fancy the idea of bringing God into it. It may be turning a simple coincidence into a meaningful event meant to teach you a lesson. In short, communion amounts to sharing your life with God out of shere attachment to the feeling of being closely united to Him. Some will call it delusion, and yes...it may be just that in the beginning. You may catch yourself tripping in far-fetched mental scenarios, and eventually rationalize that, "There I am, kidding myself big time."

But that's precisely when something would happens that you'll never be able to forget. It may only happen once or twice. A wink. It may not be God in person but never mind. Let it be some invisible spiritual guide or guardian angel, acting on behalf of God. The wink has a message for you -"No, you're not kidding yourself sweetie, You're on the right track. You're being seen and heard all the time."

ILLUSTRATE WITH A STORY

There are times when coïncidences turn out to be synchronicities, when God suddenly turns up in your life. Peekaboo!

Peekaboos are as precious as they are rare. Fortununate are those for whom peekaboos become regular. Such select people are unlikely to brag about it, nor would God be impressed by it ---discretion is the better part of valor. If picaboos are rare they may serve to avoid familiarity.  Or pride. But should they happen on a regular basis (as they do more often than we're aware) they're a sure sign of growing intimacy. What if the Divine was inclined to play hide-and-seek? Would He/She not be perfectly expert at it?

Imagine God crafting a situation where He does "His best" to remain discreet ; out of sight, as it were. Then, on account of some spiritual intuition the soul manages to detect divine presence. Imagine God being "caught off-guards", as it were. Haven't we all experienced the thrill of being found out in a game of hide-and-seek? This, is communion -a split second of shared ecstasy with the Supreme Being, how about that?
